  1. Very insightful! I completely agree that this can apply at home and work. One future topic…how do we determine if we’re in the right role (like the misplaced executives you mentioned)?

  2. Seems like this problem is particularly common in matrix-management organizations, especially those going through rapid change and growth, as you noted. It can be tough to continually re-define roles through change/growth, especially when (as you also noted) specific people are needed to fulfill multiple roles and are simply stretched too thin. I’ve seen situations like this where even good matrix management doesn’t properly adapt to change and becomes “management soup.”
