The “DNA” of Turning Vision to Reality

This video is about the 3 essential components of change. Whether intentionally or by accident, any vision that has ever become a reality includes them. They’re simple and powerful…but there are no shortcuts to rigorously (and iteratively) working through the process.

Which of the three do you need to focus on now to make change happen? How are you going to make sure the components stay connected? What are ways you can change your “mindset”?

    1. Great! Glad it was helpful. Your example in actually “doing the process” is so encouraging! Enjoyed our time together at TEDx.

  1. Good stuff. My friends and I have talked about this with our non-profit. It’s easy to get caught up in the “action” of what is on the table that we forget about our overall strategy and sometimes even forget the vision. Thanks for sharing!

    1. You’re welcome! Most small organizations struggle with exactly that. Because the amount of work to be done is so great, the possibilities so many and the resources so few, many entrepreneurial teams find themselves immersed in action…just to survive. It’s difficult, but necessary, to zoom out again and see, or work on, the vision/strategy.
A very practical tip that may help. I know one management team who struggled in this area who decided to have 2 team meetings instead of one. The first focusses only on tactical subjects (action). The second focusses only on the strategic horizon (no short-term topics allowed). Maybe an idea to make sure you follow through.
Thanks again for your great comments and feedback.
